Why the Jesus and Mary heading? Why not Jesus and the prophets and the Apostles? The reason is as follows.
Other than Jesus, no Biblical character has had to endure more misrepresentation and injustice then Mary, the mother of the living God, Jesus Christ.
Raised to preposterous heights and ordained in a mockery of royal splendour with an oversized crown on her head, the catholic tradition have often failed to honour her true majesty. The majesty enthroned in her simple servitude.
On the other hand the Protestant tradition barely give the lady a mention except as a bit player in the romantic Nativity plays.
However, only the most die hard Protestant could deny the iconic beauty made manifest in works of art depicting the Mother and Child of Mary and Jesus.
Other than God, who has loved the Lord Jesus more than Mary?
The greatest among us will be those who serve, according to Jesus.
Sadly we tend to honour the servants who reach high office in the Church, who falsify the meaning of servanthood, rather than the true servants who honour Jesus through daily self sacrifice, often in lonely and difficult places.
Mary had a servants heart. She served her Son, who was also the Son of God.
God and Mary shared the same Son. What other person has had such a touch from God?
God chose Mary above all others to consummate the incarnation of Himself. God made flesh.
According to the Holy Bible and apocrypha, Mary was the one consistent fellow who walked with Jesus, even to the cross at Calvary. All mothers will tell you that when their child suffers, they suffer.
Mary is worthy of honour, above all other Biblical characters, other than the name above all names, who is Jesus, the Christ.

Reality or ridiculous ?
Countless millions of pilgrims flock to shrines dedicated to Mary, often on sites where Mary is believed to have appeared.
The faith of the faithful is almost tangible in the air at many such gatherings.
It is difficult not to be moved by such faith. For many it is a move closer to Jesus, or a move closer to healing.
Jesus said that faith can move mountains, Psychologists and gurus of other faiths also agree.
Then again some Christians believe that such manifestations and the resultant frenzy of faith and financial exploitation are indicative of Mammon and witchcraft.
